Frazer Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Flying natural next year my first season with ob,i have nest boxes with plastic widowhood fronts but is it better for me to block up half the nesting box with wood to darken them up so they get more rest when nesting any advice or pics of nesting boxes would be good.
Guest Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 my setups the same as yours never found it a problem if you want to darken your loft try a roller blind

cemetary Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Tie pieces of cardboard onto one side of the plastic front, that will give them more comfort.
Frazer Posted November 15, 2009 Author Report Posted November 15, 2009 Was thinking about cardboard watching a dvd where they had newspaper fed through the front might try that thanks frazer.
mark croker Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Like this mate, i was told that its good for rest in breeding season, and help stop you birds jumping off eggs, aslo told that when racing the hood that it gives the cock cofidence as it echos the sound of him crowing up and makes him think that he is bigger than he is, the same idea as the block of wood in the box,
