Box Perches

I am new to pigeon racing and dont know which type of perch to get.

 

Should i get the traditional box perch or lift off perches like this: http://www.rvwoodcraft.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_27_47&products_id=72

I had the type in the link for years but moved over to Pipo's with grills in and much prefer them over the type your looking at as with the grills it gives the chance to look at the droppings.

to be able to check dropings is a must i feel each box tells a story
