micko and jack Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 CHAIRDE FRIENDS well we where at the show the best part for me meeting friends from the site and being able to put faces to names the show itself I personally didn't think was very good stalls selling birds (see the photos) and the usual stalls pigeon meds, ETS systems, corn just the same BUT no loft on display this year now some my think well that's not a big lose but for someone like myself I like to have a look as it helps with ideas to me it looked like the actual number of stalls and pigeons for sale was down (JMO) and no fancy section the Dublin show was far bigger and better
micko and jack Posted December 14, 2009 Author Report Posted December 14, 2009 I would like to send congratulations to Phil (pigeon82) from Derry he was the top yb flyer in the club this year his first season well done mo chara (my friend) I was wondering what had paddymac worried looking haha jacks the handsome one Phil on the right and the ole fella holding jack paddymac haha
hoodedclaw Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 mick them first birds r the ones i order for next year nice looking birds
paddymac Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Have to agree micko, the show appears in decline. A big disapointment especially to those that travelled any distance. Most of the stands started dismantling the stalls from 4:00pm. Still nice to meet yourself and Jack though after all this time and anto and his friend (sorry his name I forgot : hopefully you can make it up to Derry for the show on the 27th .
micko and jack Posted December 14, 2009 Author Report Posted December 14, 2009 I had a couple of the lads from Dublin who were up for the show stay and John Hall invited us down for a loft visit on the way down I was telling the lads johns house backed down onto the lough a really lovely part of Ireland the 2 lads were well impressed with the QUALITY of johns birds photo 2 anto derek and john
showman Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I have heard there wasn't a great entry for the show..maybe 250 - 300 pigeons. Unless the organisers do something about this show, it's dead in the water JMO

showman Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 This used to be a cracking show. One of the best was when they had Racers, Show-racers & Fancy pigeons in the same hall.

showman Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 A few years ago, when I was running the NISRS, I had a meeting with 2 of the organisers, regarding the future of the show. I asked them to split it in 2. They continue to organise trade stands etc. and I would take on the show itself (still all proceeds going to INFC) I could have practically guaranteed an extra 250 pigeons, because I would have brought in the show racers to boost numbers. Still waiting for their thoughts !!!!

showman Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 That's the stupid thing.....because I would have been doing it under the banner of the INFC, I couldn't steal their thunder. What I had proposed, I thought was an absolute no brainer !!
benji Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 theres no pigeons in the classes because of show men taking all the cards . AND the pigeon men doesnt want to bring there pigeons to the show to get beat :B
pjc Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 the problem is with a lot of these shows now they don't want the pigeons there! Look at Telford, was the Old Comrades and now just a trade show! Birds are being squeezed out of OC Doncaster now, just look at the way the show was organised this year, couple of years and it'll be just stands!
pjc Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 theres no pigeons in the classes because of show men taking all the cards . AND the pigeon men doesnt want to bring there pigeons to the show to get beat :B Easy, you have flown classes for the racers and seperate classes for the show racers!
