hi jimmy think gem do malting barley

Gem do malting barley which is just a higher grade barley, or are you looking for malted barley which is different, malted barley is malting barley that has been put through a process which turns the starch to sugar, it is then dried extremely quickly, it tastes completely different to normal barley, very sweet tasting the bird love it. we use it, i get it by the 20kg bag and it costs £35 a bag, this is from a brewers shop.

I will dig out the details and let you know where they are from.

I just spoke to the farmer and he said that the barley he sells is for malting, if it does not reach a certain grade it goes for feeding :-/

i work next to a malters and have got friendly with the caretaker , a coule of years ago i asked him to sell me some malting barley and he told me that its a lower grage than animal feed  which  did suprise me

although the barley i have seen there looks good stuff to me
