Guest frank dooman Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 fair enough frank, good comments but dont go encouraging new starts to be treating willy nilly itll just bring heartache thro poor doos and expence, if they get birds from diff flyers then they keep them as best they can and learn and try to do things the same time all the time but if maybe your late the doos will soon tell you, doos are creatures of habit, they like routine and they will be fine with good corn and fresh water, nothing will put of a new start more than having to ask for money to buy medicine, jmo cant realy dissagree with you regarding new starts i supose it comes down to experience as to when a bird is unwell, and most of the old prob. worms/canker/cocci wont kill them unless its realy bad and then even a raw novice should spot that there is something wrong, but they will stop them from winning and that in its self could put them out the game this is a sport where we all want to win and if they are not even competing they might well think this sport is not for them, so its a double edged sord it doesnt cost the earth to keep them healthy i just think this sport has changed 200% in the last 4/5 years you would get away with lots more before that you wont get away with it now yes agree novice should keep it as simple as possible
Dave barrie Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 aye your right frank, i know its a great feeling to have the first doo in the club no matter how much is sent, thats fit hooks the young lads about the sport/hobby but i think its more, its about the lads wanting to keep doos, its a great hobby and you just dont see it happening these days, how many times have we had birds that were extra and we said to ourselves, if their was a lad he could have these, they are just not there, not interested, ime lucky my oldest has been into them since he was ten and comes with me on the transporter and liberates so i am lucky but i just think its all to money money money, no hobby these days. davy.
