8 days to go. Hoping for a miracle that the weather improves. Another 2 inches of snow last night. Busy shining the blades on my sleigh and getting the reindeer's ready

Just watched the news, which said that it is expected that the current cold weather will continue over next week and throughout that weekend at least. I was wondering what affect this may have on fanciers, being able to travel to Blackpool. And the effect this may have on the Blackpool weekend :-/ Also, what is it currently like at Blackpool, are the pavements dangerous? and what are the roads like? would someone in that area, keep us up to date? :-/

Thank You ;)

According to the old faithful http://www.xcweather.co.uk/GB/forecast the north east coast is going to reach 4 degrees but Blackpool area is still going to be sub zero.

As you are not allowed to park in most areas of Blackpool without a letter from the Queen Mother or a SPECIAL permit we can walk on the roads, who needs pavements  ;)

Chick was pouring the water into the drinkers and the spills were freezing as soon as, there is no way we could leave them for four days unless the weather lets up :(

Someone i know bought 1 of these, said it never froze up last winter, dont know what sort of temp it would withstand, but might be worth a look, bit short notice i suppose to do a trial run  :-/

Wonder what they do in Canada and the likes. Maybe they have developed a frost proof drinker? Need to google it.

tha tabove on e-bay is a frost free drinker :-)

He He. The plastic is frost proof, i.e. it will not crack like a stoneware bowl. The water will still freeze and it will be a pain to replenish when it is all frozen inside.

Cheers Pete, we have 4 of them that we got especially for Blackpool and other w/e. The container does not freeze quick but the bowl does. Nothing is standing up to this weather :(

We cut the legs on them to suit the birds as the are meant for chickens and added 2" mesh to stop the birds trying to bathe in them :)
