kirky Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 hello can you please help. i thinking of buying some grill floors but only got 4 inches from the ply floor to the top of grills. is that going to be deep enough. should be fine but dont leave it 2 long between cleaning at least once a week.
van Roberts Posted January 20, 2010 Author Report Posted January 20, 2010 i read somewhere fanciers are putting cat litter underneath the grills?
Guest Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 i have a stack of these , (i inherited them) . i really like the idea of them ,but didnt find them practical enough to keep clean, had a base of versel-laga absorbent granules (which are similar in appearance to cat litter) but specifically for the birds and cheaper, topped with woodchips from the same company. was a good base for the stock loft . andy.
pjc Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I would just put some sand down with a bit of lime, but as said you will need to clean out and lift the grilles weekly so no point going to the expense of cat litter etc.
josh Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 i use sand off the beach it seams to clear and kill most things and very cheap to ;) ;)
