I see in his column this week it says pigeons must be rung with a ring from their country of origin.. as per FCI rules..

Which would then prohibit GB rings being sent to Belgium to be placed on Belgian birds...

Is that correct..??

Dont think this could be enforced, as who is to know apart from the breeder and owner?

Obviously... but then thats knowingly cheating.. which is no different to fiddling a clock or using drugs...

Defo mate.. and i dont want to get involved with the politics..

The only reason i asked was.. are the SU rings the same as BELG rings without the insert..??

Would this mean SU birds then couldn't be raced in RPRA races with Yb's this year..??

if a bird has a gb ring on that has been sent over to belgium who can prove where it was bred?

If the bird has 2 rings on, belg & gb then just cut off the belg to race it!

Dont see where the problem is as long as the bird is registered to the owner

And i agree with that, as long as the doos is registered it shouldn't matter where its from...

Why would they be what..??

why would'nt they be allowed to race ,ie lots of fanciers buy birds from all over ,and race in there own unions race . you asked if su rung birds could race in an RPRA  race ? again why would'nt they be allowed?

yes i know , but i think shu rings are same as gb

Im not sure.. id heard they wouldn't have the insert bit till next year..

the problem was caused by the belg union they went with the cheaper chinese ring  were as gb and others got from the usual place hespliegh who are a belgian company, obviousley the belgians never thought about the consequences buying e;-cheapo rings would cause the biggest majority of belgian flyers who sell birds to the uk
