Guest mick bowler Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Its easy to say "Vendors performances", but what about someone like myself. I'm in the *expletive removed* end of nowhere, miles (30) from next flyer, possibly one of the worse positions to fly into in europe and i may never win another race, and i will never certainly win 10 + races like some do, as i doubt i will enter that many. Does that make my birds bad and unsellable?
Guest lenwadebob Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Bob your not fake Gold member are you ;D ;D ;D WISIWYG Nothing Fake :P

Guest Owen Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Right lads, I do not intend to get into a protracted arguement with you. But I would suggest you reread what I said. Birds that have not raced can, and often do, carry the winning genes. Equally, stockbirds that have not been subjected to testing are more often that not found to be lacking. But you have to test their progeny to find out. And it is also true that birds that have won races do not automatically produce their like. So we have no arguement there. But if you want to progressively improve the ability of the birds you have to work with the known factors. The only know factor available to racing pigeon breeders is performance. You certainly can not see it. But you can measure it. The arguement you are putting is the sort of thing I would expect pigeon dealers to come up with. They will say anything to sell their stock, as we all know. Huge sums of money are involved every year in the buying and selling of racing pigeons. The vast majority of which are just no good. Yet I find it truly amazing that the same Fanciers will go and do the same the following year. I will always want to put the case for common sense and working with factual information rather than fantasy and guess work. Livestock breeders do not work with might bes and could bes. They must work with measureable factors, or there is little doubt that they would end up in a nut house. So, at the end of the day, if you want to gamble or hand over cash to the dealers in fantasy, that is up to you. But surely you must agree that you have to have a better way forward than just trusting to luck.
pigeonscout Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 thats the standard mate you are looking for top stud will hav a bird 17 first paired to 17 first from parents from 16-17 first young out the nest £1,500 -£2,000 directs ;) Who owns theses birds and how many of them do they have in their stock loft. kingbilly2 Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 what beets me are the men that go out thare way and spend thousents of hard erend cash on peds frome all overe the planet to try and beet the top flyer in there club or fed then when the top flyer pouts one to a charitey or a sale they dont give it a second look is this the old green eye thing or doo they think paper peds will make them top flyers one day ;)
Guest bigda Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 yes owen, only way to the top. just give it a bit of thought, when buying most feather merchants want good flyer's to try there birds out for them, and if they score you pay more, gift birds normally are better mainly as they are selected for you personally by the good guys.
Guest bigda Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Who owns theses birds and how many of them do they have in their stock loft. Who is wining with the young. ganus for one, birds out of blue diamond . http://ganusfamilyloft.com/

Guest Owen Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 I thought I would mention that I have noticed how quiet it has become just now. Do we have a few feather merchants knocking about here? Because, if people listen to me they will quickly go out of business. :)

pigeonscout Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 ganus for one, birds out of blue diamond . http://ganusfamilyloft.com/ I know Mike and have done for a long time he is the man that showed me how to win. Mike has the biggest collection of ace birds in the world yet he still finds himself buying top birds from the back garden fancier. There is nothing I could say about that man that is naitave as I think he is one of the all time greats.
maxwell Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 What would you say are chances of this pigeon ever breeding a winner, 8985 unraced, from 7834, unraced, & 0090 unraced parents of 7834 & 0090 where also unraced. ?
pigeonscout Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 How many of Mark Evans original draft of Gabys proved themselves in the race basket? They went on to breed 100s of winners. As I have said when it comes to breeding the parents results mean nothing.
