JAS Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Think its GREAT but the cost of rings going up all the time wont be long till we are back to the CLOCKS ;D ;D ;D

Novice Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Think its GREAT but the cost of rings going up all the time wont be long till we are back to the CLOCKS ;D ;D ;D Please remember that Gillette don't make money selling razors. It's the blades they shaft you for. This is exactly the same as ETS. The Unions should dictate the price they are prepared to pay the vendor for these rings and if they don't comply then tough luck. I would be prepared to bet that the manufacturing cost is no more than 10% of the price to the fancier. They are probably all made in the same factory and we could buy direct.

Guest Owen Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 This will be my 5th year with a Bricon system. Before I had this I clocked with speed traps. Either way you have to get the birds home and into the trap to record them. I would hate to go back to clocks. And I am sure that the pigeons would much prefer the ETS. I also rather know how I have done when I race. When we used cocks we got false readings every week. I don't want to be down on the sheet as say 10th when in truth I was 30th. Perhaps there are some who like to kid themselves, but I do not. The price of the rings is definately an issue. Now that they are selling them in volumn they should come down in price. We need someone to step in and create some competition so that the price can be controled. Here again the RPRA could do a lot to help matters but I expect they are too busy dealing with strays and working out where they can dispose of our money.
Guest tom123 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 its the best thing that happened has far as im concerned the only problem is that they fought hard to get it into the unions i hope now that they dont price people away from it and back to mannual clocks by increasing prices every year like it seems is happening unikon rings are now £1.30 a piece
dwh Posted February 16, 2010 Author Report Posted February 16, 2010 they will soon be using it when members are clocking 20 pigeons in ten seconds :X ;) DON'T BET ON IT, IT COST 1 BLOKE AT LLEAST 1 RACE AND THE CLOT STILL WON'T USE IT ??)
chichichi Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 ETS is good for the fancier and the pigeon,, but until everyone has it there will be arguing.. the RPRA should sort all these price rises in rings,, madness that a small ring can cost £1.30.. they will keep going up .. I have bricon and they are still £1.10 for 2010.. so saves me a little on the other systems,, but £1.10 is still too high.. We have elderly fanciers in our club who can clock the same speed as the younger ones,, can't get fairer than that.. best of luck ant
