pjc Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 does anyone sell with pedigrees? or are all the stall out of a car boot sort of thing? And do any of the top sellers, sell there (names) Not picking, just never been anyone gor any photos or video footage of lier market in full swing? Last time I went, a few years ago there were a couple of people who had set up more professional stalls selling birds with pedigrees and asking more for them! I think the fun of Lier is buying cheap birds that can be flown and tested.
Guest tom123 Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 there was plenty of youngsters there this year and got to be honest the best ive seen them for a few years ,i think its down to lack of english fanciers not going there that they needed to be better bred than previous years to commit someone to by them
Guest tom123 Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 nearly all booked phil for 2011 but always the odd one or two become available but they are soon snapped up so need to jumpin quick
pjc Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 what dates are you going and whats the cost Tom?
Guest Owen Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 I have bought pigeons from Lier. Some were OK, one was very good and won several prizes including a good National position, some were total rubish and two were the worst homing pigeons I have ever seen. Over the years I must have bought about 20 or so. Bearing in mind I only managed to find one worth his corn, they came out very expensive. It is a gamble if you like to gamble. I do not like the odds myself.
Guest tom123 Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 its the first weekend in march phil 2011 wont know any prices till i get quotes in, in the next fortnight from various coach companies the price this year was £160.00 pp from thurs til monday

Guest bernie w Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 I bought 6 one year and 2 the next 8 years ago and got two North of Scotland Fed toppers in one fast race and another very hard race so that was not bad odds. Also one breed two birds that have multipule fed tickets to date for friends in Peterhead and Aberdeen.
