pigeonforce Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Please can anyone help me with some advice here, Last year I joined one of our local flying clubs which has about 10 members. I had nothing but problems with them , never let me know when meetings were, diddnt map my loft location (they used a neighbours loft , some 30+ meters away as my distance), my clock which was never set right and even stopped on one race day, basicly there not bothered. I then mentioned to them that I had bought ETS and told them, which they wasn't happy, one member said " it's not fair you using this as I can not afford it" now this isn't an oap, it was a younger member. Its like me saying "you carnt race them birds because I carnt afford them". I had to chase my rings up and wait until they were ready to give them to me and was then told that every member had a vote at the last meeting and voted against me using the Ets (surely I should have been told about this meeting and at least been invited) then to top it all off the breeder buyer sale 2 members turned up ( no one was told when it was) Luckly iv joined another local club now, as have a few of the other members , and everything should be ok, but I was just wondering if this happened to someone else where do they stand with regards to the Ets ruling (can a club just say no) thanks in advance
youngboy_ Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 i dont think so it all comes down to rpra rules or fed/nat rules! thqts the way its done in the ihu
retired Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I didnt think a club could hold a full meeting without notifying all members - In fact i know they cant - Its whether it was deemed a committee meeting or full meeting. If a full meeting i would take it to the Federation or region as all members must be notified in writing. Ps - Not sure if they have incorporated this into the rules of the club - if so rules can only be passed at an AGM?? Someone a little more into the admin site of the sport maybe able to clarify?
Guest frank dooman Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 they can refuse to learn how to set/operate it and you cant do your own clock but why get involved with them just leave them and fly with the club that wants your birds you dont need the hassle
lawrie Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 from what ive heard they can say no to ets or clocks. i would forget about it, stay part of your new club.
pigeonforce Posted March 17, 2010 Author Report Posted March 17, 2010 Thanks everyone so far , hopefully the new club will be more welcoming for the few members changing over.

Club is out of order calling a meeting without you and it is against union rules! You could, if you wish apeal to the region but as the rule stands unless there are other members willing to learn how to use and set your ETS they can not be forced to use it.
kev43 Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 arnt clubs supposed to have 14 days notice b4 a meeting take place aswell ?
gingell Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 we could not even send our breeder buyers because now one would`nt put them through we had three to go gutted
pjc Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 we could not even send our breeder buyers because now one would`nt put them through we had three to go gutted you could have rubbered them and used conventional clock!
Roland Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 Of course they can! Who, or what can enforce anyone to do anything if they say they can't do it, or want to learn to do it, let alone want to! :-/ Having a clocking comittee is all well and good. But if one says they can do it themselves, then of course they can't! So regardless what you, most fanciers wish to believe, if they don't want to, or won't, how can anyone bear down upon that they have to? :o Need four, for clocking station which is fine, but YOU can't touch, or help anyone with your birds being put through, LET ALONE do it, even under their watchful eyes.. So Yes of course they can. Maybe if they had comitteed themselves to earlier you might have a couple of % worth of redress... but the end result would be the same... They can't handle ET's if they don't want to. Think personally best to let go and move on.
gingell Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 thats what they said after but birds were already gone it was done on purpose and it was geting a bit out of hand by then.(puke)

Never mind any moral or high ground, nowt can be done, mores the pity I guess, but thats how the apples fall.
gingell Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 fair shout thats wat i think just get on with it its hard enough any way with out all the rows race the birds and injoy it
