MikeMason Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 That's how my dad got me into pigeon racing 10 years ago when I was 13. I have a few brothers and a sister, but I was the only one who showed interest. He got me a 15ft loft and I had like 25 young birds, and 4, 2 year olds. He beat me pretty much every week, but 1 week I beat him. Back then, beating my dad meant so much more than winning the club. I couldn’t care less where I came. I just wanted to beat my dad ;D. Highlight was defiantly getting one back on the day from Marmande (500 miles approx) Hawks destroyed my birds in the end. Being a kid and more sensitive back then. Seeing your birds coming back with broken wings/legs, and picking up the dead bodies from next door was heart breaking. It still is. I stopped racing after I turned 14. This is my first year back! More excited now than ever before!
