Roland Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 we have two cats and they have gon in the lofts when they where baby and they still come in when i am there in the door way but they keep cats away from my lofts and the birds know them and land on the lofts when they are sitting there so not all cats are bad Has well been known that kittens - especially neutared Tom's - allowed to in the loft, or to grow up with pigeons do do just that. Likewise the dog that is brought up with cats etc. When I was a lad, and cats seemed more prevalant then, we had just that too. Cats up on our fences and lofts / walls etc. chasing cats, and likewise our dog, Alsation x Lab more than did the chores onde the ground. So for several years my fathers loft was well care for and the pigeons never ever battered an eyelid.
Guest cosmic dave Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Bloody Cats (or should I say killing machines) One of the cats that are stalking my birds sneaked into my shed at the weekend. It spent the night in there but hasnt put it off at all maybe a week next time. Sorry about your bird
OLDYELLOW Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 well owner did the right thing and last thing you need is to fall out with neighbours , it wont replace your bird or make it right but its better than getting nothing at all
Roland Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 I think, personall he did well regards the nieghbours. many just shrug shoulders and spout 'Cats have a license to roam, which of course they don't. So are responcible. Alf takes a new drowned cat and shows any new nieghbours that have cats znd tells them, 'If your cat comes into my garden piddle and crapping and trying to kill my pets, you will have tpo pay for the damages, which could mean hundreds of pounds, and your cat will be like this one. One whose owners didn't believe me'. They usually spat 'How can we stop our cat from ....' Simple answer then is 'Not my problem, don't know nor care, but that is how it is and will be'! He culled 12 in one week in a water Butt rumour has it'! No he don't get hardly any cat problems.
