starting from scratch

hi all.i am a new member starting up from scratch.need advice on what the best breeds are for racing sprint and distance races.i intend to get a few stock birds and breed this year and hopefully start racing the 2009  season.loft is coming friday.so far jansenn,kirkpatrick and buscheart have been suggested.i do not have a lot of experience with breeding good pigeons.regards paul

paul dont come on here claiming to be new flyer catch all the birds you have all round the flat or get youer father to i was called in to remove a lot off them

dont live in a flat,live in a four bedroomed house with a huge garden with a nice loft in it hopefully come friday.my father did used to race pigeons under the name of "gingell bros"his club which has now dispanded was called risca hs.i was a lad when he had his pigeons but i was always facinated by them.i do have a limited knowledge of pigeons,im hoping to expand my knowledge of them on this website.when he gave his pigeons away he kept all the drinkers,feeders,baskets and clocks so i have a pretty good start,but i still need loads of advice off established fanciers who want to give it.

i  have some ybs ready to wean out of my stock loft yopu can have but they have no rings on they are very well bred i have been on holiday so they missed being ringed just pay the carriage

yep.it is a silver vauxhall zafira 1.9 di which i use as a taxi.i work for high x cars which is in rogerstone.

There are 4 clubs that I know of in Newport: Pill Pigeon Club, The Ferns Club (In Lliswerry area), The clarence club (By Newport Bridge) and the Newport Gwent & District Flying Club (My club!) which is by the George Street Bridge.

got loads to do,loft is arriving friday but i have to assemble it myself,i will not be ready to receive the birds offered untill loft is fully equipped.i will pm fanciers who have offered.i really do appreciate your offers.
