Castleview Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 I wonder if anyone could help me? I've been using PLO (Like this software) and there is a part in it that is for Eyesign Rating. What the hell is the Rating? I've studied the eye sign a bit and know the difference between a racer and a breeder by the ridges in the iris. I'm still studying the other areas too, but when I saw this it stumped me. I'm guessing that the Rating is between 1-10, 10 being the best, and then you have five rings. Here's my example of the eye sign rating: 10 - (This would be the pupil) 4 - (Circle of Adaption) 7 - (Circle of Correlation) 9 - (Iris) 2 - (Health Circle) Could anyone shed light onto this subject, or have I got it right for rating. I have got S.W.E.Bishops Secret of the Eye sign coming soon, so I'll be studying that.
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Bit of a touchy subject at present on here mate. you could say they are not even, agreeing to disagree. However wish all the best in your study,I kept them for 25 years and never even considered it,so cant give you any help. Mind that not say i was right, on the contrary mate Good luck Rab Smith

timbarra Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 make up your own mind in relation to your pigeons, eyesign is a subject that will push one mans idea to what is right and each disagree with each other so , i say you grade your pigeons to your own method and enjoy the pigeons not the eyes..... or could keep peacocks, they got lots of eyes. ;D spencer

Hello Castleview, I am about to put a series of articles on eye rating with descriptive photo's on the thread:- Jack Barkels Eye sign. You obviously need help on the subject of eye sign, and I do not see any immediate help coming on this thread. Please note that I spent some time with Stan Bishop some 50 plus years ago when eye sign was in it's infancy. It has progressed a great deal since then, and although his book will give you some of the basics, eye sign has since those days, progressed a great deal towards Iridology. Which is a far better word than eye sign, because of the knockers to the subject over the years. I am well known on the subject all over the world and my website has had the numer 1 rating in Canada and Australia for many years. I have gradually over the years evolved a method of rating and grading that can be understood by all, for the number system was never satisfactory or explanitory. The ratings I evolved have become pretty well used as standard in many parts of the world today. Those who do not believe in the subject, need not even bother to visit. Those who do believe or have an open mind will be most welcome on this thread. Regards Jack Barkel

Regards Jack Barkel sorry Jack did not think this was your thread ? your wording of '(Those who do not believe in the subject, need not even bother to visit. Those who do believe or have an open mind will be most welcome on this thread.') this makes it look like people have to be invited or agree with whats written on this thread. I am of the opinion this is a thread where free thought and opinion governs and not ' need not bother' as you put it attitude. your views as well as anyones can be posted here. but you have your thread and the gentleman asked a question , which you answered in your own way as honestly as you can. but do not please chase or try as it seems to chase away people of free thought and opinion. spencer
Merlin Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Castleview If you are Eye Sign orientated, you should pay heed to Jack Barkels methods, have studied many different mehods by many fanciers, and all undoubtly have something to offer,to my own opinion Jack has a lot more than most, eye sign is not some kind of miracle, its an aid to help a fancier in a better selection programe,if a bird hasnt got all the other requirements, then eyesign isnt going to be much use, likewise if the fancier is not up to scratch, good luck whatever you do.

It has progressed a great deal since then, and although his book will give you some of the basics, eye sign has since those days, progressed a great deal towards Iridology. Which ... This subject was hotly debated 30 / 40 years before that. Indeed strangely enough with the British and continentals ... which obviously never took hold in Belgium, as they don't not only not believe it, but there is no such word / theory for it there. Mind they do hae a 'Fixer' that is often used to grade and mate fanciers birds for them.... But he / she never looks at the eyes! Every one for their' own, but until some so called eye sign gurus' can at least agree, or put some basic fundemental 'Laws' together, then I'm afraid that it will never get much creedance.

Roland, If what you say is true then what was Josef Huyskens doing with his eye sign chapter on eye sign over 100 years ago. His books title if you may recollect was; " The Four Seasons " When Hubert de Hummel, who was the long distance champion of all Belgium at the time he visited my lofts. He went through many pigeons with an eye sign glass. I find your statement contradictory to that of many top class Belgium fanciers. I have had several Belgium visitors that looked at the eyes of my pigeons and showed their delight with what they saw there. I have rated and mated one of todays top outstanding fanciers birds in Belgium. For professional reasons I cannot divulge the name, but I have computerised data to prove my statement.
timbarra Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 hello Jack, if your offering proof of whos birds you have mated in belgium, i think this proof should be made available. we could all say , 'we did this for a top fancier or did that' you can understand my scepticisum with your last statement, could this information be made available to stop the doubters ?? proof will always stop speculation !! regards spencer Jack you offer computerised data as proof, can we see this please. with names and dates , to stop speculation mongers.....!

Roland , i find your statement creditable and sensible. but as you know there are many ways to evaluate a pigeon and joe basket is the way it is done, otherwise why race them mate. good call on your part Roland. cheers spencer
Lennut Tar Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 :D Carlsberg !!!!!! I totally agree with you ;) "Timbarra", poor old uncle Jack I'm afraid ?????? has lost his way etc. Where not on his site/topic here now, as he likes to put it, or thinks. "Open court" guns/balls can come from any direction :) here. "Wanted" 1 pair of crutches !!!!!! Cheap ????? for a senior citizen, who continues to shoot himself in the foot repeatedly. I'm afraid as as it is, I just don't know why Thanks Jack, I now know the answer to my concerns here "Re losses of pigeons etc in races" for many years. In secret !!!!!! :D they never talk about at the clubs, but everyone is popping in & following your advise on your site at home. Rest assured !!!!!! I will now front them all for not letting me in on the act. "Next" Your quote !!!!!!!! & boast, Re "Canada & Australia" :'( :'( :'( Please, do a bit better than that here. Lift your game !!!!!!! Canada has around 1000 flyers I believe etc, & Australia !!!!! is a pissy little island : : :, stuck down in the middle of nowhere, one could say. with 4000 flyers etc, & that's the best you could come up with here. "I'm sorry uncle Jack" but to me, there is no credibility there in my view I'm afraid. When one considers, we would have 100 odd countries which race pigeons etc. PS. I look forward to your humerous reply, & 'high Dave" !!!!!! I just saw your name up the top here. Enjoy.

Little did I know why, till recently :D :D. All jokes aside ????? I'm happy putting my foot in my mouth here :X :X :X, & that's the extent that I'm prepared to go. Besides !!!!!!!, your not suggestion are you here ?????? that for anyone to have any credibility etc & be allowed to post here, they must have their own web site, shall we say or be in the same league as Tasker, Kirkland, Add Shaelarkens (We both know I've spelt that one wrong) Devos or Norman as an example. Because if so !!!!!! I find that very Because !!!!!, not at any stage have I ever attempted to portray myself in their league, I'm just one of the battlers here 8) 8) 8) who now & again, wins the odd race or two & that keeps me happy at this stage of my life, & "I still have my memories" of my better days in the past. So I have not gone troppo or reached the nuthouse completely yet. Enjoy & I love the lions.

PMSL, No my friend, I do not think that anyone who hasn't got a website has no credability, i beleive all people are credible until "proven" otherwise. You may not beleive this, but I quite like you, eyesign jibes apart you are quite humourous, when i can understand what you are saying, and thats sincerely not a dig as you really do lose me off sometimes. Unlike your mate you aren't arrogant and can be humble, and that has my respect. My request, which i think you have answered, was for YOU to enlighten us with your knowledge, but to be fair, i really do think you answered it above! Are we gonna call a truce now?
Jack Barkel Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Hello Lennut, You do not need to say poor Uncle Jack, I am neither poor mentaly or materialy. I did not shoot myself in the foot, I only tried to explain to those who's travels, and social standing in the pigeon sport are obviously limited, that there are many top Belgium fanciers who use eye sign and have done so for 100 years or more, and I am sure that I made my point. They are reticent to get involved with disbelievers who will try and attack them to get recognition, so they in the most keep quiet. I have not seen one of my attackers who have put anything on a website of their own that is of any value, but they will continue to criticise others. I have a good reputation throughout the world for my efforts to help in the pigeon sport, nobody will or can take that away from me. Some of my attackers are just plain amateur comics, the trash I do not even bother to reply to anymore, and we all know who they are. I will continue to help those who are interested in what I have to offer, until age beats me. The others I will lose no sleep over them, for they are like ships that pass in the night. I enjoy your comical replies, although sometimes it is difficult to ascertain what you are trying to say. Jack Barkel

timbarra Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 I am still waitng also for confirmation of Jack Barkels evaluations at a top belgium loft of present time, as he claims . If you have this data can we not see it instead of waving it under our noses, could we see this proof ?? I am waiting as is the rest of the forum members ? spencer
