while I agree that there are a lot of unfit /unhealthy pigeons sent ,this has always been the case however it doesnt explain the increase in losses over the years in itself, perhaps as you say crap pigeons, maybe over the years the homing intinct has been

bred out of a lot of them by the big studs  etc, breeding off birds never out of the loft and many times removed from the actual champions, add that to the BOP problem and the increased usage of mobile phones etc this will become the norm in future unless we act (I dont have the answers to that)soon. jmo

some by the BOP most birds dive for cover in trees most go down in to corn fields and can not get back up in till they fined the way out so they can carry on to come home theres lots that dont make it out of corn fields most fokes out there loose the race over this and they K..L there bird thinking there bad birds.some hit wiers..trees...birds go into others lofts  for a drink food the birds that do this most of them gets K..LED by the fancier because they dont want them there and can not be bothered to report them.. i think the bigest K...ER of pigeons is the fancier. in 30 years iv only had 5 reported at its most. think about it its one less bird to win the race and it do go on 9 times out of ten this is what happens.as i said JMO
