im looking for any info on the the above persons birds i know his nephew peter vander merwe has  them and won most things but what about piet vander merwe

if its his uncle who flys next door he flys as v d mewer batenburgh he flys some super performances with his distance family

Some of Piets pigeons were brought over with Peters to the Blackpool show and were sold in the auction a night with the stars. A lovely stamp of pigeon that went for a small fortune, with a lot of the birds related to the Peter Vander Merwe strain.

The Van De Merwe/Battenburg is a different partnership, i believe its Piet's dtr.

 

If you have a look at Peter VanDe Merwe's best racer/breeders like gwen and 605 etc you will see they are bred down, if not bred from Piet's birds. I had a dark cock and he was a beaut and apparently bred some cracking YBs this year.
