Hi all weve had are young bird we got gifted in for a week they have had two hours each day in a cage on top of the loft and there trapping well off the landing board .now we  are going to let them out can anybody give us any tips is there a best time of day ie in the evening hour before dusk or early morning so they have got plenty of time to get their bearings all the best pp

I am not sure if there is a best time.

I just had a sparrowhawk scatter mine.

I think the best policy is to let them out when hungry and when the weather is overcast and possibly raining.

They tend to laze about in the rain and this gives them the opportunity to feel at home without flying.

well i would leave them out close to feeding time in the eveinging!

don't have them out too early, if it is a bit fresh they will be up and away before they know where they are. Late afternoon best, keep them on the hungry side, it is important that nothing frightens them at this stage

Do not let them out when the adults or yearlings are still out.They will follow the adults and fly away,but their muscle are still unfullydeveloped, if fly too far from loft they can't back.
