Hi 3 have just cum back 2 still out lol where do they go

they just get excited when they find their wings,,,unless summit has spooked them and they wont return till they have calmed down which is obviously what has happened to yours  ;)

I'd never throw a ball or try and frighten them off the roof. Food to bring 'em down or just wait. I've two missing from my young uns that have just gone out. Love 'n patience is the thing.

if theyd only started flying well, why would you as we say down here 'put the brush among them', i always thought young birds at first was always about building confidence, and an association with the fancier, and the loft, and not untill that is gained could such methods be used, id prefere my birds to trap like rockets then to be scared of entering the loft.

Spook could = crow. Evil with youngsters, swoop low over them, or land amongst them, scattering them to 4 winds. Youngsters will get used to them, and crows are much better to have hanging around loft than sparrowhawks, which they'll usually keep away.

I'm a 'ball' person myself, but when youngsters go out for first time, I always give them about 7/10 days to roof-hop which I think helps them get their bearings and gives them a visual of the loft and what's around it. When they are strong on the wing, know the ropes, but still going to roofs, then that's the time for the ball, and a couple of times is usually enough..

only my opinion, but if they have only just started flying i would never stop them landing on the house at this stage.........the most important thing is the settle them without any losses, you can always stop them landing on the house roof once they know where home is and are flying in a bunch/group......... :)

i hope so wat does this mean do you think this one will wander all the time

its just found its wings and learning the area if its been back then should return again and they'll will roam later when fit enough , try to avoid letting out in high winds as can loose them
