But the weather was so bad, I ended up bringing them back home. I would like to ask the members if I should have still shown the hens bearing in mind they were in the basket all day. I did the same myself (drizzle) once and brought the birds back all the way home, but after telling my club mates what I'd done, they also gave me the same advice. Read the thread on the way the Forces trained their birds for war service - the Forces instruction book said 'never bring back in the basket, bring them nearer home and lib, the birds must always fly home'.
