Guest NUMA Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 only 5 members sent in my club a grand total of 48 birds, they raced from mangotsfield and out of 48 birds sent theres 65% missing.the usual amount of members that send is around 25 with on average of 300 -400 birds .common sence prevailed and most of us kept our birds at home.unbeleivably the bloke that took 1st and 2nd was chuffed even thou he's 10 missing out of 13 sent.the winning vel was 1150 the member in 4th was doing 799.thats their birds knackered for a while.i asked the winner was it worth it he said i got two cards so yes.makes you wonder what goes on in their heads.its a long seaso and these 5 small team fanciers have already lost or ruined half the birds in the loft.
carlsberg Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 in our club 3 members sent 40 birds with 75% missing on the night so count youself lucky hopefully they will turn up tomorrow
Guest NUMA Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 it doedn't matter if they turn up tomorrow they are still ruined for the next few races at least.i can't understand blokes that feed and look after the birds all winter just to throw them away in the first races of the season.
