Guest IB Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Forum member Jimmy White's 'Sir Colin' was a Kirkpatrick, scored in SNFC Rennes and Nantes races, before breaking his wing and being retired to stock. I have not heard of any recent single bird performances on a par with Sir Colin, or Stan the Man (above) both of which were late 90's, attributed to Kirkpatrick breeding. I tried to start a Kirkpatrick family via LPW 2001; nothing, not a feather from them. I now have a couple down from Sir Colin (well down the tree now crossed into my own ) and another, Bossman, that I have a feeling will do some damage. .
mealypied Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 I have yellow kirkpatricks originally bred by louella and yellow jannsens. The feathering always looks so great on the yellows. Mealys and reds put with yellows often throw yellows but it is better to have a yellow cock as they carry 2 chromosomes and the hens only 1.
