ch pied Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Maybe the gravitational pull of the moon makes them fly higher? ronnie ,?

Guest Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 There were 10 posts removed from this thread. None of them had anything to do with pairing pigeons up on phases of the moon.
jimmy white Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 WORTH A TRY I THINK poss right speed,,, with pigeons, anything worth trying,, i have read about this in the past,, i think one of the main things are on pairing on a full moon , is that the the pairs can near enough see each other without fighting, and gently fall in love rather than abrubtly go mad at the appearance of the hen :-/, but thats only my opinion
barlbymark Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 i paired mine up on the full moon must bring the vanpire out in them one of my cocks nearly killed the hen lol
sammy Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 always thought the object was the pigeons treading on a full moon and laying eggs on a full moon and hatching on a full moon positive round o in the homing world wrote an article many years ago about it and thats what he was saying then
LOUD AND PROUD Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Hi i was wondering if any one knows if it is a full or new moon that is best suited when pairing up and also if you notice a difference in the youngsters
just ask me Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 i like mine to hatch on a full moon as the parents will feed through the night
LOUD AND PROUD Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 i like mine to hatch on a full moon as the parents will feed through the night thankyou . do you notice any difference in these young birds compared to ones hatched on a different night
sammy Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 i like mine to hatch on a full moon as the parents will feed through the night dont know much about moons but always thought young hatched out early morning and parent birds always fed at night without the use of the moon
Guest IB Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Well, full moon is just as it says on the tin, whole moon visible. A new moon has just a small crescent visible on the left? side. But if its a night light you're after, best install one, cos the 4 phases can't last more 7 days, includng the full moon. And I think the birds feed by touch and movement, light or no light. Youngsters are blind remember for the 1st x 7 or so days.
Guest asha Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Many racehorse breeders swear by the moon system of breeding,SWEBishop of the old Gazette wrote a superb fable back50`s time on the very same subject,ROUND "O" 1983 stud book continued this theory ,even legendary Vic Robinson could pick out top birds in the nestpan,,read his book, bishops and Round"o",then Planting by the moon.see what you learn about "pinkes".
