REDCHEQHEN Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 The UNC are having a catch up race tomorrow from Melton Mowbray ( 3 races to catch up on I think ) some are being liberated at 9.00 am, others ( mine included ) in the afternoon, any chance of you good people giving a weather report tomorrow, am and pm, especially coastal areas, looks like sunny intervals 10 - 15 mph North winds for much of the day according to the BBC forecast :-/

Guest Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 My thoughts exactly Mealybar. I didnt send because I work and no-one could give a definitive answer as to when they may liberate them. No good to me getting them up at 9am.

Cant see it being very popular for the working man then! Better keep my ybs in We missed a few races that's why they wanted to go to Melton Mowbray today. to cover for 3 weeks ago. Our birds will be Librate at 2 o'clock in the afternoon - Good luck Redcheqhen and all.
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 Hartlepool, East Cleveland and North Yorkshire will be liberated 20 minutes later at 2.20pm Good Luck to you aswell Craig - and everybody else
carl Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Our fed voted against flying melton mowbray today,so if you wanted to send the birds could only go as trainers, didnt know it was one of our catch up races,so now we have lost a race from our programe BUT we could only send them as trainers. sounds stupid to me
mealybar Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 I've never heard anything like it either Carl. Should be a good race though, its a good day for it, testing north wind too
Guest Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 I were 4th. my dad was 5th and 6th in the same club 14 out of 17 - waiting for 3birds to come home. Dad - 17 out of 20 - waiting for 3 birds to come home.
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 We had our first win of the season today - gobsmacked, thought we were miles behind as it was such a slow race. All birds back within 40 minutes - so very pleased Must have been all your good wishes eh..?
mealybar Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Well done Redcheq. 3 hours for 135miles into Hartlepool tonight, any other times?
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 We were on at 5.21 (1255 vel), 129 miles 950 yds, believe Homer & Williams topped NY Fed, but not sure of time 5.13 to 5.17 - distance 127m 701 yds
Keepsmilingqueen Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 How was everyones race ??? out of 13 birds sent, so far we only have 7 back, so 6 still missing > me and mum race with shotton fed, so liberation was 14.00hrs for us and we timed in our 1st bird at 17.24 to take 3rd place in club.(the winner was timed in at 17.11) i think a few birds over shot there lofts as ive seen quite alot heading back overs this evening ?? ;D
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 WELL DONE LADY, VERY MANY CONGRATULATIONS Thank you Hyacinth :B
mealybar Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 2:20 lib, home at 5:20, 135 or so miles, so about 1300ypm 52/64 home when I left the loft I was at for the clocks at 6:20. Heard they were in at 5:24 other side of the town, which should be a bit faster. Anyone race this morning with South East Durham or North East Counties, what times were they doing?
