pender Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 i just been told about this persons performance from lessay with the snrpc , and can ony describe it as amazing. it must rank as the best modern day performance from a west sec loft to have 8 in the first 50 inc 1st sec 3rd open it may well deserve to be called the best loft performance in a nat race in the whole of scotland, considering it from the west sec. well done .
kaybee Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 And its not a one-off as he also had 9 in the top 103 from Reims, a distance of about 550miles. Outstanding performances.
pender Posted July 25, 2006 Author Report Posted July 25, 2006 just a pity this club dont put there results on the net.

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I HAVE BEEN FRIENDLY WITH KEN FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND ME AND MY SON HAVE VISITED HIS LOFTS QUITE A FEW TIMES WHEN MY SON STARTED WITH PIGEONS KEN SUPPLIED HIM WITH YOUNG BIRDS FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS UNTILL WE WERE IN A POSITION TO BREED OUR OWN AND I KNEW GEORGE BROWNLIE WAS HELPING OUT DONT KNOW IF HE STILL IS BUT HIS RESULTS IN THE NATIONALS HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING AND BEFORE SOMEBODY SAYS I AM KNOCKING HIM I AM NOT BUT THE AMMOUNT OF BIRDS HE FLIES IS UNBELEIVABLE AND I THINK THE LAST TIME I WAS AT HIS LOFTS HE HAD I THINK OVER 200 NESTBOXES [NOT EXACT ] AND WHEN I WATCHED HIM FLAGGING HIS BIRDS IT WAS LIKE A BIG CLOUD IN THE SKY AND IF YOU ARE SENDING A STACK OF BIRDS TO EACH RACE YOU ARE MORE THAN LIKELY TO HAVE A GOOD RACE BUT THE BIRDS ALSO HAVE TO BE CAPABLE OF DOING THE JOB AND I KNOW IN SOME RACES THIS YEAR HE LOST MORE BIRDS THAN I KEEP
pender Posted July 26, 2006 Author Report Posted July 26, 2006 yes he does keep a lot of birds prob about 500 in all maybe more, but you still have to have quality among them to win, but i do no where you coming from tammy. myself i always work on percentages thats why i admire s gibson as much to send 1 more often than not to a race and do what he does is superb.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 AGREE THERE PENDER ITS HARDER TO SEND 1 OR 2 AND ACHIEVE WHAT SCOTT GIBSON DOES. AND ITS KEN AND HIS SON WHO DO EVERTHING NOW BUT I HAVE ON OCCASIONS BEEN THERE WHEN HIS WIFE HAS BEEN SCRUBBING ALL HIS DRINKERS OUT
Guest Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Can I piggyback and ask a question please? What was the connection between George Brownlie's birds and Albert Oribine, Greenock? Were they the same family of birds, or 'just' the same strain, Van Hee? Swap birds or did one start the other off? Thanks
goggs Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 I HAVE BIRDS DIRECT FROM ALBERT ORIBINE, ALOT OF ALBERTS BIRDS CAME DIRECT FROM GEORGE BROWNLIES VAN HEE / STICHELBAUT FAMILY. ALBERT ALSO HAD DIRECT BILLY PARKES BUSSCHAERTS AND ALSO TOM GILBERTSONS FROM CARLISLE , AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST DENNIS DALL
