Pigeons : left in or let out?

 

do members of the forum let there pigeons out  or are they left in over the moulting period?

Leave mine in over the winter months for a few reasons, moult, plagued by cats around here, helps keep the neighbours sweet.

well time i get home from collage it is dark now so not enought time however i do have late starts certain days at collage but when ive been letting them out they are stubborn and all they want to do is fly about and lounge around as there also getting a good amount of grub in them.so i tend to only let them out on a saturday my cocks once theyve had a bath in.hens they go in the aviary same as stock birds to get bathed so they dont go out at all during this period

Now the older birds are almost through the moult i let them out for 20 to 30 mins for a fly and a bath,the youngsters that were on the dark can just say get to there perchs never mind fly out,but i do let them out at least once a week for a bath.Thge older birds starting to look the part now

Let them out when ever I can, but at the moment they don't want to fly so don't make them, just clean out and get them back in

Out on the better days but don't force them to fly. A bath in front of them all the time.

Open loft every day and bath out once a week.

I fly my birds year round.  They do not have free loft entry, but I loft fly them when the weather permits.
