Guest CS Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 IS IT POSSABLE TO BE SUCCESSFULL WITH AN SMALL TEAM AT THE DISTACE BIRDS
Wiley Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 yea you can be successful, you dont need to be a big team man to win the distance races mate!I know a guy and i know personally he races natural pigeons and he only houses 4 pairs of birds and 10 young birds. But come thurso race i can guareentee he aint to far behind
Guest Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 ;D Only 3 years racing no great success but have 3 natural hens i use for distance racing , paired to stock cocks after they have reared 8) have been on the result sheet many times but no cards ( yet)
schouwman71 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 use to have a janssen hen GB90 bird just used to send her to the distance races as a widowwhood hen aswell as paired to me,i always clocked her in and score with her,she used to come like a sprinter,in 1992 clearmont was her 1st race that season 337 mls and she was 2nd club 12 fed.Sadly i lost her in 1993 on a training toss. ??)
birdman55678 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 I believe the defination of small team is the catch here, what maybe small to one flyer is a large number to others, but in answering the question I think the true distance pigeons are better if rested every other week and only raced once every two weeks. So if this way is used then it would take more birds. Ed
blackjack Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 David Posey Flys approx 24 pigeons old and young he has had a great record over the last 10yrs. John Horler of Reading about 20 birds a great record John Wills and quite a few others.
