Guest shadow Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 I believe John Wheatcroft of pixton notts is the main importer for these birds
schouwman71 Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 here are a pair of red fox janssens, the cock is very inbred to vosde byter & schoone vos.
schouwman71 Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 yes i think john still imports them,i had a son off schone appie through henk kuiljaars,he was a great red janssen and bred many winners ,found him sat on eggs one morning dead,a sad loss it was,i managed to save the eggs and still have the last son off him.
pj1001 Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 As far as I know Westy one of Boddy and Ridewood's Pigeon Channel videos/dvds is on the Red Fox Janseens and their background. I looked at an old catalogue and form it, it seems to be video/dvd No 19. So if you wanted to find out more about the strain taking a look at that might be useful. PJ
tompadel Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 I had them before i packed in but now i have restarted wished i could get them back.Went to the lofts at twello in 1988 and fell in love with these birds, bought some there and then and continued to buy them and won with them upto 581 miles pure and crossed. The red fox janssens are from a base pair schoon voske and vos de bijter which originally freek romein bought from sale of van der flaes.Remember though this family also consists of chequers and now that the stud in twello has brought in top pigeons from other top lofts the family has changed. The originals were my opinion the nicest pigeons i have ever seen, check their website or buy the dvd....FREDERIKSHOF is the name of the loft in twello...spelling may not be perfect cheers tompadel
Roland Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Great site. Reminds my a lot of the great 'Stamvater'! Mind that bird is possiblely one of my favourites of all time ... and never actually had any. Nearly did off the 'Red Dragons' Loft'.... but was either continuously engaged, or no rply so ...
schouwman71 Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 i had a son of stamvater when paired to sheer elegance,he went on to breed 18x1sts individual pigeons and also g.sire to combine winners in one year he bred 5 individual 1st prize winners.
schouwman71 Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 son of "stamvater76" bred in 1988 and in his first years breeding bred a fed winner, only breeding two that year, bred 5 individual winners in 1990 winning the club by 5 mins ,also as yearling they were gaining 2-3 1sts a year on widowhood.g,sire to 1st combine in 2000 from 215mls,altogether breeding 18x1sts direct. This is an old pic took in 1995,wish i still had him.
