Bobthegas Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 Hi all, Just an idea: I fly in the Three Borders Fed and i have only been into pigeon racing a few years, so what im about to suggest may already have been suggested, oh, and please dont shoot me down! Well here goes: As the young bird season is now over the question i ask is this, why do the Fed Reps/commitee make the last race the Combine race, as it seems to me that most fliers hold back their best cocks for yearlings, and half of the birds are going into a moult etc, most only send hens. Why cant we have the combine race lets say the fifth race or so, as the birdage will be stronger, my club have been sending on average 250-300 birds, yet only 150 went yesterday, and also the crate charges are extra with not so many birds. YOUR THOUGHTS......AS THESE ARE ONLY MINE. Bob

Roland Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 Yep long the 'Longest Day' and traditions! Regardless what commonsense dictate these are maintained... with the silly 'Always donr it! ... Good enough for our fathers' and the longets day' etc. Lerwicke is a prime example for the longest day.
