Merlin Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Not so much the skin, but I do often get a darker down,a shade of red/brown rather than that golden colour
Guest IB Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Isn't there 'names' and 'theories' for all these skin & down colours in the nest? I've seen odd posts refer to plum, pink, gold? but didn't go into detail. Agree with posts here that together with beak colour, they are indications of feather colour, but suspect for some it has much more importance than that.
Guest shadow Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 do not breed from the cock he must carry the gene :(
grizzal Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 how did the nest mate go last year, did u race it or lose it.
collins and stevens Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 we lost him off the loft but he was feeding and drinking with the other youngsters...........bit of an invalid really and never for racing but quite an interest with our local fanciers. I will try to get some more photos on line as he develops .
