ohiogsp Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 What do you think of this eyesign for a pair? The hen The cock.
just ask me Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 very nice the cock has a brill eye in my humble opinion u get any thing out of him yet might breed the cock to a darker a eye but they should match
doo Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 The cock I reckon will be a good racer but should be paired with a hen with a heavier eye in the Iris. just my opinion :
THE FIFER Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 the hen has the best eye of the 2, lovely mountainous iris,
DUBLINFLYER Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 2 lovely eyes, but i'd prefer da cock 2 be honest he has a small pupil an a very wide adaption these are wot i look for, just my opinion
just ask me Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 hope my post helped a little any time

Pieter Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Hi, Just wonder what your guys opinion is on Barkels theory on, not pair to 2 full adoptation eyes to each other? Or than you must pair a 100% to a Clear? Pieter
bewted Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 jack barkel theory very good mate,i would follow his theory and have done so far, will get results later in the year with yb season !!!! ted !
doo Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 The hen has the better breeding eye than the cock the cok has a good racing eye ....but it's only one part of the bird, the rest must be sound as well.
MsPigeon Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 They are nice eyes, But if your using Jack Barkels method you would never pair two white eyes together. You should put a white eye with a yellow. I like the cocks eye best myself. Carol

The cock is a Janseen/trenton cock that won our combine auction race as a YB, flew 500 miles on the day as a 2 yr old with 7 day birds, bred a 8th place combine auction bird, and bred a futurity 4th place bird.

ohiogsp Posted February 15, 2008 Author Report Posted February 15, 2008 Hi can you put on a pic of the hens eye the cock was paired to when it bred the above young birds. I can't cause it was not my bird at the time. Thanks for the advice everyone.
Guest MBpigeonguy Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 bull eyed pigeons still have eyesign, but, harder to read than ordinary coloured eyes !!! how can you read a black eye? they all seem the same to me!
bewted Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 how can you read a black eye? they all seem the same to me! as told to me ; hold the bird with beak towards tyou and look into eye from that angle with light showing on the eye and look for the red area as in normal pigeon eye,it should give you some indication of what it shows !!! if the red portion is craggy or very rough surfaced, then you got some good or excellant pigeons !!! this is only an indication, but, can point you in the right direction !!! regards ted
bewted Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 oh! maby i will try, if you dont see it first time, keep comparing your pigeons with one another !!! dont be in a rush, just look and observe, takes a bit of patience, but, you will get it in the end mate,,,,,,i know i did !!!! regards ted
