jimmy white Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 can you keep the hen locked in a widowhood hen box a system you need more time with , Ive never been struck on this system ,i,e hens laying , cocks comming with hens on race day, losing odd cocks , leaving odd hens , but there are many experts on this system who fly extraordinary well. you can keep the hen boxed , but would need as much excercise as cocks
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 what is it you realy want to know he wants to know how to stop his hens from pairing (shrug)
THE PRIEST Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Yes you can box the hens up i have in the past. The main problem with boxing them up is that you have to keep letting them in and out of the boxes each time you exersize them so it can be quite time consuming. If it is to stop a hen or two pairing then you might want to just box them two up to save on time. michael.
stoolpigeon Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 you can keep them in boxes. but grills raised off the floor, and v perches on the wall for them to sit on no feeders on the floor just a wee corner drinker thats all you need in the hens end
