Tony C Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Have you found that a w/hood cock that takes a different nestbox to previous year/s races better, worse, or just as good lol or bad as the case may be.
OLDYELLOW Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 well this wont answer your question , but i find the higher a box a cock takes the better his performaces are , and sometimes yearling move as 2 year olds as are more dominant as 2 year olds
Guest Vic Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I would say, leave a few boxes closed, (unoccupied) and use them at the most oppurtune time, (when they are staling)
Wiley Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 well this wont answer your question , but i find the higher a box a cock takes the better his performaces are , and sometimes yearling move as 2 year olds as are more dominant as 2 year olds have to disagree old yellow its just an other theory or old wives tales that the cocks with the higher box the better the performance! Tony i can only go on my experience couple times it has happened, the 2 cocks in question did out perform once changing boxes, but could it have just been the box change that made the birds better then previous years, instead of the fitness, health and management that i couldnt answer. But like Vic said i have used that method before leaving some boxes unocuppied and opened up as a motivational technique and has worked a treat.
just ask me Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 i allways leave them choose there box what ever one they want as if u have a happy pigeon ure half way there
