PC Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 ive been looking at vercammens record in belgium as the top pools winner well that looks like a damn good recomendation for a sprint/middle distance strain 2 me hes selectively breed a strain that will sprint well in even the hardest conditions ps weve got mainly van hees there an alrounder famed for its capability of winning at all distances if that clears up the confussion
Mike Lycett Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 I'l vote for the Verkerks thanks for outright sprinting. Gaby's for the middle. ;D ;D
Mike Lycett Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Speight There aint no way on this earth that you can ever classify Van Hee as a sprinter. No way.
Guest Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Mike, I never know what strains VAN HEE's are in the Spriniters or Middle/Long Distances!
Mike Lycett Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 The Gerard & Michael Van Hee were imported bu Louella in the early-mid 1970's. Such lines as "Motta" and "Patrick" etc. Dad had 'em in 1975 & they were, and remain a superb 500 mile pigeon. No way can they possibly be construed as a sprinter.
Guest Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Rose, How far did you send your spirints?
Mike Lycett Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Nowt but clean food & clean water for 72 hrs prior to basketing. Too many birds are offered stuff they do'nt drink properly & this just brings on dehydration that bit faster.
southbankhs Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 THE RENE VAN DE WEYERS FROM MOL SEEM TO LIKE THE SPRINT RACES
MsPigeon Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Jimmy wrote the best sprint birds are bred down from a line of the best sprint winners . van winneranybreeds mated up with van managements The best sprint pigeons are the ones that win people keep on goin on about this breed that breed yet 99% of pigeons are just a mixture of others if you like 2 birds and they win pair them together a pure any thing can be brought any where a pigeon with 10-15 1st is rare but i know the one i would go for Rose wrote Whatever wins for you im sticking to my heinz 57 Im new to sprinting and after looking at the birds for sale at blackpool i came to the conclusion that every breed going on what was said about them was the best I agree wotih Jimmy, Alan and Rose!!! 100% ;D
Guest jason Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I like to think that all my birds are delbars (which aren't very good on the sprint or so they say) but I've had winners from 62 mile, I am beginning to think a pigeon is just a pigeon it'l either win or it won't, afterall, the winner is the first bird home whether its a delbar, janssen, van reet or whatever, Its our job to get the pigeon home quicker than anyone else. you have to keep em fit and healthy, if you haven't got these things, nothing else will do.
schouwman71 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 vanreet joined forces with jos sootjen in a breeding programme with each others birds for experimental purposes, thats why you will see sootjen names in van reets, luke geerinx got them off sootjen and was the only fancier to beat jos with youngbirds at the time. But a question may well be asking is were did the old tom come from what breed was he as jos said he wasnt a janssen pigeon.
Guest CS Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Brasspennings, Vanreets and Van loons are the fast pigeons....... will still test on the other spirinters........
Guest CS Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Has anyone tried Louis Cooreman pigeons????????
blackjack Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Any bird which is handled properly can sprint and a damn good stockman who knows his job and stays away from drugs and who knows his birdscan and does win and win well. Thier is too much salesman ship in sprinting. Its true it can be decided by loft position, wind, and the size of yhe competion thats not to knock the best but simple fact but most people should look in the mirror before they change their birds for the latest fashionable strain. Mr .Lycett Does your mother still keep her old distance birds i hope she does not just keep sprinters.
Roland Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 And grit is removed Tuesday / Wednesday, just extra wieght.
Mike Lycett Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Mr .Lycett Does your mother still keep her old distance birds i hope she does not just keep sprinters. I never knew that we'd ever kept distance pigeons? Sent to 557 miles twice and had 100% on thwe day both times - but Dad was the distance maestro. His Van Hees were MUSTARD - but a genius wouldn't have got them to win at 60 miles.
