Has anyone tried the birds from here and what are they like. I was going to purchase 20 from Louella but after reading the previous articles think I will give that a miss for now! Can anyone recommend 20 from elsewhere failing an answer to the natual breeding station?

Some local lads have bought from the NBS with disasterous results. A lot of the birds died and others were sick and did not recover properly. Everybody to their own decisions but, I would'nt have them from there myself. Some of the lads that visited earlier in the year, said that there were mice running about under the mesh floors. The last time I went there was four years ago and it was fine then. But apparently there has been a serious drop in standards since then.

You might be better off buying from this forum than risking ill health and all the expense and problems that go with that.

i think there can be problems with most studs [based on the numbers bred]your best bet are guys off this site 8) 8) 8) 8) 8),the old chestnut about "buying local" is a joke, no one local will sell you anything in any way good why should he? you will be racing against him, there are giys on this site who will see you right

maybe better off buying two or three birds for the same money  off a fancier that is winning  ;) very rarely do u get good quality birds for cheap not saying it does not happen of course it does but one or two for the stock loft might be a better option

FrankDooman

Thank you for highlighting this worthwhile Charity.

My Niece was in the Royal Vetinary Core and her Husband Para 1 - I did not know about this Charity but have now passed the link on to them and I'm sure with all their contacts should be able to raise some money for the cause.

Angela.

P.S. sorry if I've went off topic  :B

Well done Frank a great guesture. I am sure he will snap your hand off.  Newbie 2020 this is a terriffic offer you wont go far wrong and you will get far better birds than you will get from a commercial stud.
