Andy Lessay 2 was hard race to judge a bird....did you notice lots of different names on fed sheet...from the 3 races in I had 13 from 13.   I would say you have them set up well(better than Lessay 2 ) so personally if race looks good send with some confidence.....but as I would tell everyone...if sending whole team then be cautious as one bad race can ruin you for 2 years.

You send this week Andy? I have 6 in.

to get fit bird by training is not right if they were not fit to come back on good time from race??? why ???? feed rest then build up is the clue to fit birds when you think they are fit are they just fit round home when you toss birds thats when they show faults in condition are they covering disrtance in good time are they coming home and sitting about or home and tearing round lots things point to bird being fit but to train after races cos youer not happy is not the way to go ?miss race get food right exercise right let them tell you they are right then race or face loseing them or ruining themn for season

If not flying enough .... whatever that means, and what standard, I'd watch them very closely. Could well be that they have toxin in their blood. Worst thing then is enforced flying!

Their very demeanour should tell you the sytate of their mind and body. If alert and winking when you first enter the loft. Do the take off with arc necks and clapping and with zest? etc. etc. But me, from the sounds of it would leave them home.

Roland ,how can i tell if they have toxins in blood ? and then how is it dealt with ? today (not raced this week) was day4 of coxoid treatment ,they have looked perkier after 2 days of treatment .bath tommorow ,hopefull to train mon/wed .              andy.

why have you treated for coxoid?
first time ever , was suggested to me by an old hand who called at the loft a week back . (when this man speaks ,you listen and act ,what he doesnt know aint worth remembering ) so i am told ,trusted his guidance . please dont pick holes , constructive critisicm is welcome tho .                     andy.

not picking holes but as you will have read many times its not a good idea to treat blind, if you suspect a problem then test and treat accordingly!

i know exactly what u r saying(paul isnit) treating blind ,last year i set up an account with an avain vet ,and i am no ramany but knew the answer before the lab reports came thru . i trust this mans opinion and acted on it ,with marked visible results ,i may be making a further mistake by sending ,but time will tell ,thanks for the replies .       andy.
