Lost 11 off the top. thats big loss for a small team mate , i was just thinking for next year as this is my first season with young birds , for next year if there is anything left i was looking to race 12 widow cocks , it just seems to be most people at the top fly big teams , the only other option i have is round about 12 cocks & 12 hens but then this becomes a time issue
peterpau Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 racing 14 younguns probably on a hiding to nothing but hey ho May be. I expect to pick up more cards in the BBC again. One of the longest flying birds on the result or not.
peterpau Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 25 young uns went out 5 pm one saturday and I had 5 by night fall. 2 reported down by Oxford 50 mile ish. Them young uns that are left will go to Lamballe 280 mile and be expected to pick up cards in the result.

Guest Hjaltland Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 You dont need a large team to enjoy the sport and to do well, I have a race team of 10 pairs to chose from, they wont all be raced at any one time. I breed around 30 yb's every year, some of those are given away and the odd few dont make it.. so I'll have about 15 - 20 yb's in the basket to enjoy. I'll also take the odd Late bred off pairs which have done well during the OB season - but they have to be pretty special. Enjoy.
