vanreets Posted August 18, 2009 Author Report Posted August 18, 2009 I there true doves, not very far, if fantails, not very far, if white racers, will home o.k, why do you ask van reets? you training doves up now? ;D no just got a pair of pigeons a ash-red bar cock and a red mealiy hen they were one of my frist pigeons and the ash red cock i think is white but not sure as it was a while ago and the hen has got a slight fan tail in her and they are going 20 miles tonight just to see give the a chence if they come back i will get a dovecote as dont want in the loft with racers
chickadee Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 Depends what you call fantails Indian, absolutely useless, if they go a few gardens away they are lost ;D Exhibition, absolutely useless, if they go a few gardens away they are lost ;D Garden, a bit better, they normally stay in site of the loft or cote Standard, a lot better, I have given/sold some to people and they have returned 30 -50 miles from us, we got one when we first started from lithgi lad, kept it in three weeks and it went back, kept it in for another six weeks and it still went back ;D Homers, the only difference between a homer and a racer is the racer is trained and bred to come home quicker, sadly this is not always the case German beauty homer Homer or straight tail Racer. I hope ;D
