leighton1984 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 How many super birds are in one loft 1 to 3 in the very top flyers no more. my ronnys will be raced this year as young birds i will only take the very best for old birds. kill whats not up to the job only way to sort them out. If they are not %100 they are in the bin. a small team of good birds is better than big team of crap. I look forword to see the ronnys at the top of are club and fed sheet if not they will be in the bin. the race basket will tell all. please do not think am pulling the birds down am not but i want to see them winning in my area. as some will know the hills round me sorts the birds out as the last 40 miles is very hard racing no flat land lol. thanks all pigeon basics members all the best

Only thing i would say is not always the best young bird racers make the best old birds. The rubbish will in the majority highlight theirselves to you during the racing / training, but be carefull upon selecting your yearlings mate, as some of my better birds have not always performed miracles as babies! All the best, Dave

All the best, Dave quite true takes a while to sort out what breeding the goods few year back lost a few cocks to hawks i put a cock into the box that done noting as a young bird well after a few races he flew his guts out with some top fed positions i think with widowhood too its like a switch that in there heads it just clicks with some birds

Young bird racing is different to old bird racing in my opinion.
pjc Posted June 6, 2009 Author Report Posted June 6, 2009 Also you can have the best birds in the world but they don't perform for poor fanciers!

leighton1984 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 I have sort one or two of the Ronnys out that i did not think was as good as i like. sort them out now not after racing or training. select very hard and it makes it easy at end of season. Then there are things that i look for most top pigeon men will not tell their secrets if you can call them secrets lol . what so good about the Ronnys? They are very smart birds (Intelligence) They have very very good feathering. The birds shape is like a pear. and they is some more things but i do not want to go on and on lol. cheers all
