Guest lenwadebob Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 recent post states 10 grand 530 quid lot 5 same for lot 31 take of price of adverts plus auctioneer fuel etc not really a great sale was it Why wasn't it a great sale ????? Why should pigeons fetch mega money. The right price was paid by those attending. Too much hype over the price of pigeons these days no wonder the sport is in decline.
Guest pigeonguy147 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 bob i meant not a great sale for the macs but a good sale for the buyers
CREBAG Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Cant understand some people saying it wasnt a good sale for the Mc'S? How many fanciers do you know in the U.K that can get £260 each for a round of latebreds? :-/ It was a good sale, the birds were also immaculate.
No 1 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 uphallhen November 3, 2009, 7:37pm Quote Report to Moderator Oldbird Posts: 373 Quoted from JonesyBhoy No they were all 09 bred Just thinking about the wetherby yb open and the losses and they have just sold 46 y/birds.??????????????? They were bred especially for the sale, none of them were ever raced, who else in the UK could average that amount of money per bird, WLG & Syndicate lofts, every bird offered was a brother or sister to Macaloneys fed winners, fantastic sale for them and the fancy.
Guest bigda Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 if the macs get good feed back, from those birds that they sold, well the money will just roll in, but i must say they are not in to selling birds, as this is a first for them on this scale, all though there are a few in the lanarkshire have beat them with there own birds but not consistently enough, to add to the bad races they have had yes they have lost birds with 6- 8 first fed tickets, but the difference there is they can reproduce and have had 20 bird all drop together, any one of them topping the fed most Saturdays have a look in the lanarkshire fed results in this site to see the height these guy perform at and as for clubs he can have the first 10 at will
Chris Little Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Have by all accounts heard it was great sale, pure quality from top class fanciers. Had I still had sprint aspirations I would have certainly been at the sale
Guest bigda Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Have by all accounts heard it was great sale, pure quality from top class fanciers. Had I still had sprint aspirations I would have certainly been at the sale what you mean sprint, roy seaton won the nationals way them and ian cameron you need to look at the sale list again ;D
Guest bigda Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Have by all accounts heard it was great sale, pure quality from top class fanciers. Had I still had sprint aspirations I would have certainly been at the sale Section and M.N.F.C. level. Ian and the Macaloneys have developed a good friendship since Ian introduced their birds in 2002 to cross in with his Dutch van Loon pair. An experiment that has paid off big time, as Ian is now one of the very best fanciers in the M.N.F.C. and indeed many consider him the best fancier of 2008 after an incredible season. Ian entered 5 National races and actually won 1st Section in 4 of the 5 races, the highlight being Bergerac (586 miles) winning 1st and 2nd Section, 2nd and 5th Open, flying for 14 hours 41 minutes and 15 hours 11 minutes on the day. These 2 birds were the furthest flying birds on the day when only 16 birds were recorded. The next morning Ian continued timing the first birds, winning 3rd Section, and 6th Section both of these birds had Macaloney blood in them, another example of the Macaloney/Cameron cross can be found
