As previously stated I am going to race y/b this year on the natural system  can anyone tell me if this system is at a  disadvantage compared to racing y/b on the darkness system . I ask this because I have read that the darkness system makes the young birds mature a lot quicker than the young ones on the natural system

if you want to win with ybs darkness is the system you would need to do , it all depends on how much you want to compete when you have ybs natural birds will be falling to bits later on unless bred later ;)

I only want to give the y/b some experience this year hopefully they will race better next year well that is the plan. But just wondered if the natural system would put them behind the y/b on the darkness by a long way.

I believe I am getting most of my y/b at the end of march beginning of April I am getting them from some of the guys at the club who kindly said they would bread them for me to give me a start

I'd advise novices to start racing natural both y/birds and old. You'll learn much more in a quicker amount of time this way.
