HOMERp Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 As previously stated I am going to race y/b this year on the natural system can anyone tell me if this system is at a disadvantage compared to racing y/b on the darkness system . I ask this because I have read that the darkness system makes the young birds mature a lot quicker than the young ones on the natural system
OLDYELLOW Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 if you want to win with ybs darkness is the system you would need to do , it all depends on how much you want to compete when you have ybs natural birds will be falling to bits later on unless bred later
HOMERp Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 I only want to give the y/b some experience this year hopefully they will race better next year well that is the plan. But just wondered if the natural system would put them behind the y/b on the darkness by a long way.
HOMERp Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 I believe I am getting most of my y/b at the end of march beginning of April I am getting them from some of the guys at the club who kindly said they would bread them for me to give me a start
Tony C Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 I'd advise novices to start racing natural both y/birds and old. You'll learn much more in a quicker amount of time this way.
