aye ready Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 since starting to fly roundabout in 2003 when the young leave the nest and the birds are split have always cleaned out the nestbowl and gave them a clean one to race to,does anyone fly their widowhood/roundabout to the old nest still intact,i've had my fair share of prizes with the clean bowl but this was just to get other fanciers thoughts so i can decide for this year
Guest stb- Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Think there better clean Martin to be honest ;)
Guest big pete Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 yeh soak mine in a tub of bleach and water, then jet washed and dryied
pigeonscout Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 I often wondered if it would make a difference keeping the old nest but then I realized that if you put a new nest in the same box as the old nest then hen and cock will go to the new one. Better still if the box next to them is free they often will go there for 2nd round.
breakaway Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 leaving the old nest, means they arent sitting in a cold bowl tried it myself pigeons ok , no mites or creepy crawleys just close that half of the box and place a plywood square over the pan all roads lead to rome?
