thanks for the links. am working with a vet on this one, dont really like antibiotics.

Have young birds panting after 5-10 mins flying (not overweight or heat related). no other signs of respiratory problems, otherwise look real healthy(droppings not perfect). have not responded to tylan, doxycycline or canker treatment. has anyone had similar problems.

Your first concern was your birds moult - are your birds still on their end primaries?

 

If they are they will be both reluctant, and especially with No10 primary on both wings, will be virtually unable to fly.

 

And they will gain some weight during this period - the extra effort getting (and staying) airborne will make them pant. I weighed my birds yesterday - got quite a shock I can tell you.
