SALMO PT

Indication :- For active immunisation by racing pigeons against symptoms caused by Salmonella Typhimurium.

Treatment :- The vaccine must be injected beneath the skin in the neck. Shake the bottle well before using. Dose ½ ml per pigeon. Don’t vaccinate in infected lofts but give first a paratyphoid treatment.

Cannot understand why anybody wants to keep sticking needles in pigeons, natural immunity is the way to go, I have mine tested on a regular basis and I have never had it, its no wonder the sport is dying.

I will tell you something for nothing Beanz some of your birds in your lofts are carrying Salmanella the same as nearly everybodys natural immunity or not that is fact

In Belguim they tested birds from every basket and 70+% contained birds with Salmonella and that is Belguim with all there Vets Etc so what chance have we got !!!! I will say that this does not always show in lofts then 5-10 years down the line it rear's its ugly head , you are only as clean as the dirtyist men in the club or fed

we have vaccinated all our stock and race birds for Salmonella quite a few years back now and will continue to do so as its doing them no harm , if you don't want to do its fine if its working for you ,What works for one loft does not work for another thats what makes this hobby great !!! Stress is a big factor in Salmonella eg the big Moult or breeding etc

Mr Bambling,

I am only stating my opinion as you do, the way this sport is going with vaccinations and antibiotics the birds are going to look like pin cushions, if that is the way you want to go thats your choice but it isn;t mine if I never win another prize again then so be it, if I have to go down that route then it will be the end of pigeon racing for me.

just have a look at Kenny Balds one loft race on here Circovirus & Paramixo natural immunity has not worked there

like i said whatever works for you and whatever makes you happy doing !!!! but i respect your views also

Interested to know exactly how and when that test was conducted.

Were these tested as individual samples, or pooled samples? What exactly was found? For example, are we talking here of salmonella bacteria, or salmonella antibodies?
