Columbovac Paratyphus

I was just wondering if anybody on this site has used the Paratyphus vaccine made by columbovac?

 

Is it any good?

 

Have you had any problems with it?

 

Your experiences and thoughts would be appreciated.

I have, few months back, had a death due to it, 2 weeks Baytril vaccinated (have to do it twice, few weeks apart) tested clear now. No problems here

Just so I understand, You gave Colombovac Paratyphus injection twice, two weeks apart and had a death. You then gave Baytril after the paratyphus and then all was fine. Is that what you meant Babybird?

No sorry, I had a death, took it tobe PM'd and it came back Parataphoid, 2 weeks Baytril 2 vaccinations 2 weeks apart (I think or maybe 4 weeks apartwould have to check back the calendar :-/) all clear now and have healthy young after a sucessful moult

How often would you have to keep giving Parastop?

 

I've heard that once you have injected with Colombovac, they are fine for the full season.

i;ve never used either but i beleive its the same, once given clear for the season. Its the course of antibiotics that cures the problem and then the parastop or colombovac prevent it being caught again.

Parastop is an antibiotic similar to Baytril. Colombovac Paratyphus is a vaccine. An antibiotic cannot prevent the bird getting an illness; a vaccine can.

ive been told that useing an vacine for para or salmanela can lead to infertilaty in some cases weather that is true im not sure

i used sal bac a few years ago and had my best fertility year ever the key is not to do them to close to the breeding seaon early december is ideal

As Baby Bird has said they need to be treated with the antibiotic first to make sure they are free of Salmonella before they are vaccinated.

thats why there is so much ybs losses ppl not treating. The pigeon dont have to show sickness to be sick i hear lots on here saying y treat when there not sick. (They will not show the sickness till they r under stress.) i treat 7 days with ALTABACTINE 2 DAYS PROBIOTIC  THEN INJECT FOR PARAATYPHUS.
