OLDYELLOW Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 it's abred from Van Loon silver shadow lines but definately a cross and is Offered by Jaap Van Alphen.
pjc Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Are they not just dealers though Vallance?
Guest cloudview Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 this bloke came to stoke on trent selling birds straight out of baskets , they were in awful condition , and his white , so called delbars were lik e cross bred fantails , he,d trawled the uk selling them and i could,nt find one decent bird among them

gangster Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 his father in law is jaap van alphen owner of a kweekerstation in holland
Fair Play Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Van Alphen also has numerous satellite lofts which I take are conrolled by managers
BLACK W F Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 i have bought off Jaap and the ones i got are superp admired by all who have seen them but they are not his white or grizzle familys i also have Roland jannsens off Pieter and i am more than pleased with them cheers Alan
Guest rodders Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 i bought a hen off them this year cant complain took 2 off her both have won ;D
Guest cloudview Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 the thread was put on re red grizzle van loons , he probably is a nice chap , and has got some nice birds , regardless of strain or breed , but as yet nobody has replied saying yes or no that vanloon from poppel ever had reds in his family,
OLDYELLOW Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Well Louella never had any reds in there Van Loons , the Planet lofts never had any so i suppose they did not have reds and Ponderosa has no red Van Loons , never seen a red Van Loon so must be crossed but of the lines of silver shaddow
joe61 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Van Loon pigeons are a cross of Janssen of Arendonk and Cattryse via the lines of De45, no grizzle in the family at original base, but some other crosses have been brought in, i would personnally have original bloodlines from the 80s and before, not the new stuff. Its nice to see someone doing the reaerching background material, rather than just buy or have birds that have the tag of this strain or that ?? top question. oh happy days
Guest challengerlofts Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 it's abred from Van Loon silver shadow lines but definately a cross and is Offered by Jaap Van Alphen. yeah, definately cross. got white Delbar cock from Jaap Van Alphen last Blackpool Show Jan. 2008. Got grizzle yb off it. Really look nice.
j.childs Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 In belgium/holland they used to cross the van loons into the birds of albert van de flaes, the van de flaes pigeons were mostly reds the base of these were direct jansens...Could be the same lines???
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 what concerns me is that what ever the colour is when a bird of any breeding comes good on market everyone has them sells them if you take orial black pirds years ago a fancier used to go round buying any pieds he could as they were the vouge then and they become orial black pieds same with rolands if red grizzle or other colour roland janson till you breed from them but by then you spent youer money sad but true???
terry mccarthy Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 ive had loads of them white grizzles blue grizzles red grizzles iron grizzles black grizzles all my red grizzles have come mainly via a dark grizzle which silver shadow was a lot of mine were crossed in the end with the ejakamp janseenns the more common colour from the silver shadow vanloons are white grizzles
terry mccarthy Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 most of u are right in fact there not really vanloons wen vanloon sold out to planet bros apparently he only kept a few bk for himself he then bought some other birds in and crossed them with his vanloons im led to beleve they were the tounier grizzles so now u have the vanloon grizzles remember as soon as a bird enters there lofts regardless of wat strain it is it then becomes one of theres so takes the owners name
bewted Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 most of u are right in fact there not really vanloons wen vanloon sold out to planet bros apparently he only kept a few bk for himself he then bought some other birds in and crossed them with his vanloons im led to beleve they were the tounier grizzles so now u have the vanloon grizzles remember as soon as a bird enters there lofts regardless of wat strain it is it then becomes one of theres so takes the owners name people will pay a fortune for these so called pedigree birds on the continent and all of them are crossed with other winners regardless of names !!! makes you laugh dont it,,,if you cross a bird here in uk most fanciers dont want to know,,,,,cross it in the belgium or similar country and its worth a fortune and comes with pedigree !!!!
terry mccarthy Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 one thing for sure the birds are the nuts if u get the right ones i won most thing with mine but they do like a very hard day not very often u will get them on a blow home unlike the original vanloons
Guest Paulo Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 Most be a cross. I've got a silver shadow grizzle Van loon hen from ponderosa lines. Paired her to a red van loon and they have chucked out one bird thats the spit of his dad and is red and a normal grizzle hen
