as im sure bruno will agree were going over old ground, the milton debate is on the forum, on page 2health, under yb sickness but what do notice is , my post has went slightly adrift, as i said" i dont use it ",,only for crop infection,,,i also notice that bruno said in a few posts above that it contains 38 pc salt  and in a previous post states it contains 16.5   salt, i also notice" oh dear disenfectant"but now uses vanodine  [ which is exellent in my opinion], but still a dissenfectant , iodine based.

ifyou look at the bhw article on ian and anne scofield of bradford,,by gringo,,,,they have won 500 races in 5 years , they say they put a teaspoonfull of milton in the water everyday.

if any one is willingto try my simple experiment, please let me know, all you need is a bottle of milton, and 6 heavily coffee or tea stained cups, pm  me

My main 'warning' is : Milton cannot be used to sterilise the drinking water. The big danger is that you think you've prevented infection spreading via the drinking water because you've Milton in it ... consider carefully what the maker's say about their own product ... a speck of dust, or even the first pigeon to drink, would neutralise it ... so Milton just cannot be relied upon to keep the birds' drinking water safe.

.this has allways been a freindly debate, between myself and bruno, now today i have had an independant forum member, first time in my house, to wittness my experiments :) :) :)  now this is all perfectly true.

1 ONE HEAVILY STAINED CUP [TEA MILK SUGAR COFFE]TABLESPOON OF MILTON AND FILLED WITH WATER 15 MINS LATER CUP SPOTLESS

2 ONE HEAVIER BADLY STAINED CUP FILLED WITH WATER AND TABLESPOON OF MILTON THEN ADDED,   PIGEON SALIVA, PIGEON DUST, PIGEON DROPPINGS,MY OWN SALIVA   [sURELY THIS IS AN EXAGERATION OF SPECK OF DUST]LEFT FOR 15 MINS POURED IN TO ANOTHER STAINED CUP,,,RESULT FIRST CUP SPOTLESS,

3THIRD CUP WITH ALL THIS IN IT , RINSED,,,,SPOTLESS NOW ACCORDING TO BRUNO THIS CUP SHOULD BE FILLED WITH SALT WATER   NEUTRALISED, BUT THE CUP WAS SPOTLESS.

4  NOW JUST TO MAKE SURE IT WASNT SALT WATER, THAT CLEANED THE STAINS OUT THE CUP, WE THEN FILLED  STAINED A CUP WITH WATER AND A TABLESPOON OF SALT,RESULT  ,,THE STAINS WERE STILL IN THE CUP

NOW ANYONE IS INVITED TO MY HOUSE FOR A CUP OF TEA  ;D ;D ;D, BUT I PROMISE ILL GIVE YOU A MILTON CLEANED ONE ;D ;D ;D

NOW THIS EXPERIMENT ,TO ME, PROOVES THAT WHEN THE PROPER DOSE OF MILTON AND WATER,REACHES THE BIRDS CROP IT WOULD HELP KILL BACTERIA IN A BIRDS CROP,,,  DOCTOR WHITE. M.A.D. WITTNESSED BY   BIG AL  ;D ;D

IF YOU FIND THESE ARE TRUE FACTS ,BIG AL WOULD YOU SIGN MY EXPERIMENT SHEET  ;D ;D ;D

Stumped, Jimmy.  ;D

Have no doubt what you say is fact; now wondering if what the makers are saying (about proteins neutralising Milton) is just a bit of blurb to soothe worried mums?

Can't see any reason for using Milton in the first place.

I use domestos , and like many for quite some time. SOme 20 odd years. MUST never ever mix any thing with it though, be it in the water, or on their food. Sling water out same as... Just leave a bowl of demostos bleach out in the garden and wacth what happens.

Makes feathering excellant as well and tight too. Golly just how many showmen use I'd won't hazard aguess. Been some great articles printed by top flyers from all around the world... bit dated now of course but still about if one cares to search a mite.
