slinky slitheroe Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 no pure if pure is the right word as all pigeons are crosses somewhere down the line what i mean is have u crossed them with some of ur own.
slinky slitheroe Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Slinky explain what you think/call PURE -How do you spell PURE? Pigeons are like people Couples from all parts of this World getting married--So What nationality--what country? Looks can be deceiving. Well what imean by pure is bred from 100% janssen bloodlines which can be traced back many generations to to the original janssen pigeons at arendonck.Iam well aware that the janssen pigeons came from different sources at the begining i think a pigeon from a mr schouters had a big influence on the janssen pigeons .The impact these pigeons had on the pigeon sport all over the world is amazing .So ok PURE might be a bit strong to use but if there was a strain of pigeons that deserved the title pure it must be the janssens there like peas in a pod all over the world.
Guest Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 The only way you can really tell is to do a feather dna and even then you need the orginal dna from the 'source' bird, not an easy thing to do but its the guaranteed way to know your having a so called 'pure bred'.
blaz Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 when i got the birds in years ago all the pedigrees came with them. i still have some of the birds but i dont think i have the pedigrees. hear is some photos of fountinhead jancens that i have .bred by maddog all 3 will have pedigrees.

In truth pedigrees might not be worth the paper they are written on, only way ever to know true strains is a dna from original and from the birds you have now. Most people are honest though.
gangster Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 albert vander flaes culitvated this family of red janssens after his sale freek romien and family continued to cultivate them via vos tiger..bijter ect.....i was in belgium in alberts village at a food outlet and the owner still flew well with his birds from albert....good birds

schouwman71 Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 over the years i have had some of the finest red fox janssens that have been around and won many races with them, they are a wonderfull family of birds that freek romein put together before his sad passing, rooie appie was a fantastic breeder,i had 2 g,children off him through gerard schlepphorst, plus a g,son of the red fox couple he and het schoon voske,i also had a son of stamvater 76 that bred over 21x1sts ans still his g,g,children are still winning today, camphuis bred from the red foxes to create the old 05,there was much said about the old 05 but his nest brother was an even better pigeon but came home from a race badly injured so camphuis had to put him down,i still have 3 hens bred very close to rooieappie and old 05,thinking back i wish i still had a family of them but things make you move on i guess.nice pics Blaz les
gangster Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 les dont forget i think it was albert vander flaes who put freek on 2 the 2 foundation birds
schouwman71 Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 hi gangster, missed this thread, yes it was vander flaes who told freek romein to bid on the two reds and later told him he will breed a foundation out of them, how right he was. les

blaz Posted August 3, 2009 Author Report Posted August 3, 2009 maybe but i can,t see a sparrow hawk taking one of them out of the air doing about 40 mile ph peregrine i think
maxwell Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Probably the best pigeon Van Der Flaes had was the Blauwe Van Lier he was a Blue Cock with 20 x 1st and the G Sire of the Vos De Bijter, who in turn was the G Sire of Old 05. Like a lot of the Ace Janssen pigeons Blauwe Van Lier was a G son of the Blauwe of 48 & Bange of 51. Whether fanciers cultivated the Reds, Blues, or Lt Cheq,s there are literally 100,s of the Ace Janssen pigeons that come through these original old Janssen lines.
