I have just discovered I have quite a few moths in the stock loft - I have put in pheronet moth traps on the ceilings but haven't caught many. What is the best method to eliminate these critters

Cheers

I have a similar problem with moths/midges, a friend suggested to use a product sold by boddy and ridewood called ''airdap'' has anyone used this product and if so what were the results? I smokebombed one section and this did the trick for about four weeks but now they are back again,Ihave a lot of trees surrounding the loft does this attract them as i never suffered at my previous location where it was open all around the lofts ??.

Noticed the odd moth or two in one or two nest boxes, but nothing approaching infestation levels. Wondered what was attracting them, what they are feeding on and if they can harm the birds?

Midges favourite hover spots are in the still-air under trees and eaves and on the lee side of buildings. Slightest breeze will disperse them.

Ardap is an engineered pyrethroid insecticide, very powerful and poisonous, especially so for fish. Saw B&R advert for it at around £13. I'm sure there are cheaper and safer alternatives. Basically don't like any aerosol spray in the loft, birds after all are one huge air-sac.

:o :o Agree with chatrace about the moth balls i do the same thing ;D ;D ;D (Avon) ;D ;D ;D as we all no moth like dark palces like the cracks in thew wood all the time ya scrap ya deserb the little blitters,my solution would be to paint the loft once with an water based paint which yas can add if ya like a little duramitex to the paint.my thought as ive painted loft yes a few moth do get in but a good blast with the blow torch once a week in the loft will solve the probe.just a thought Speck>

the pigeon spray contains pyr,,,,, same as household spray again engineered to make tetramethron, but household is cheaper, birds dont like either, but ok after a few minutes, when the birds have been out,
